Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Favz mobile application (“Application”), created and operated by the Favz Team (“Service Provider”) as a free service.
The Application is provided “AS IS.”

1. Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. To protect your privacy, we separate essential data collection from optional analytics.

Essential Data (Required for Core Functionality): For a better experience and to provide core app functionality, the Service Provider requires certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:

Email address
User identifier (userId)

Optional Data (Usage & Analytics): Only if you explicitly opt-in, the Application may collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the experience. This includes:

Your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address (anonymized)
Pages within the Application that you visit
Time and date of your visits
Your mobile device operating system

2. Location Information

The Application does not collect precise location data (such as GPS coordinates).

If you opt-in to analytics, it may collect approximate location information derived from your anonymized IP address in order to provide region-relevant content and understand aggregated usage patterns. Any location data used is coarse, anonymized, and non-precise.

3. Third-Party Services and Data Processors

The Application uses third-party services to facilitate our service, provide backend infrastructure, and (with your consent) analyze app usage. These services act as Data Processors and operate under their own privacy policies.

Third-party services used by the Application include:

Essential Infrastructure:

Firebase Authentication & Firestore: For user login and database hosting. (Privacy Policy)
Typesense: For processing search queries within the app.
DigitalOcean: For backend server hosting and infrastructure.
Firebase Crashlytics: For tracking app crashes and bugs to ensure stability.

Optional Analytics:

Google Analytics for Firebase: Used for aggregated usage statistics only if you have provided explicit consent via the in-app toggle.

4. Disclosure of Information

The Service Provider may disclose User-Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

When required by law or legal process
When necessary to protect rights, safety, or prevent fraud
To trusted service providers (listed above) who act on behalf of the Service Provider and comply with this Privacy Policy

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have specific data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Service Provider aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.

Legal basis for processing your data:

Essential data (email, userId) is processed on the basis of contract performance — it is necessary to provide the Service.
Analytics data is processed on the basis of consent — only collected if you explicitly opt-in via the in-app toggle.

Your rights include:

The right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you.
The right of rectification: You have the right to have your information rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
The right to data portability: You have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.
The right to object and restrict: You have the right to object to or restrict our processing of your Personal Data.
The right to withdraw consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time where you previously provided it (e.g., turning off Analytics in settings).
The right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to file a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion

User-provided data is retained for as long as you use the Application.

In-App Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated personal data immediately and directly within the Application by navigating to App Settings and selecting “Delete Account.” This removes your data without delay.

Alternatively, you may contact the Service Provider at support@favzapp.com to request data deletion. Requests submitted via email will be processed within 90 days.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Application does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain European jurisdictions).

If the Service Provider becomes aware that personal information from a child under the required age has been collected, it will be deleted immediately. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information may contact the Service Provider.

8. Security

The Service Provider takes reasonable measures to protect your information and uses physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to secure data processed and stored by the Application.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Any changes will be reflected by updating this page. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
